South Kent Coast Health and Wellbeing Board
What is the South Kent Coast Health and Wellbeing Board?
The South Kent Coast Health and Wellbeing Board (SKC HWBB) is a sub-committee of the Kent Health and Wellbeing Board. It brings together GPs, district and county councillors, senior local government officers and the voluntary and community sector including HealthWatch. The aim of the Board is to improve the quality of life, health and wellbeing, including mental wellbeing, for our residents.
The SKC HWBB will ensure a “local” voice and identify, at the appropriate level, district-wide and neighbourhood-level health needs, priorities and gaps in service provision.
The SKC HWBB complements the county-wide Board and will feed local views into the overarching Kent strategy and ensure local issues are determined locally.
The SKC HWBB went ‘live’ from April 2013, following a 12 month ‘shadow’ period and has been been working with the Department of Health to establish guidance and with Kent County Council to roll out local Health and Wellbeing Boards across all districts in Kent.
