Dover’s biggest jobs and skills fair returns to Cruise Terminal 2 at the Port of Dover on Thursday, 12 October from 10am to 2.30pm.

Dover District Council, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Port of Dover, Stagecoach and East Kent College Group are teaming up to showcase job opportunities across the district, along with apprenticeships, training, and college courses. Over fifty local employers are expected to exhibit with some 800 local jobs on offer.

A programme of workshops will also offer job seekers advice, from CV and application writing, and other practical support. Job seekers could even leave with a job offer* on the spot with some employers offering interviews on the day.

The event is free to attend, and thanks to Stagecoach, a free shuttle bus will run throughout the event from the town centre to the cruise terminal. The first bus will leave Dover Cruise Terminal 2 at 9:30am and the last bus from the cruise terminal will be at 3pm.

It’s a great opportunity for job seekers to meet local employers and hear about exciting jobs on offer locally.

“We’re grateful to the Port of Dover for hosting us and to Stagecoach for providing a free shuttle bus so that as many people as possible can come along.”

Rob Polden at the DWP said: “We’ve had a terrific response from local employers who will have over 800 jobs on offer on the day. We’ll also be providing a range of practical help to help get local people into work, and for some, they could even walk away on the day with a job offer!”

Doug Bannister, Chief Executive at the Port of Dover, said: ““We’re delighted to once again be hosting Dover’s biggest jobs and skills fair at our cruise terminal. Dover and the wider district have a bright future, so it’s the perfect opportunity to come and find your future role. We will have our own stand at the fair and we encourage everyone to stop by to learn about the wide variety of careers available at the Port of Dover.”
