If you want to be inspired to reach your sporting goals, or just want to come along to join in the fun, everyone is invited to the first Dover District Sports Spectacular – which is all set to get up and running at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School on 11 April.

This fantastic free event will feature a range of exciting taster sessions from 12 noon to 3pm, where you can try your hand at a variety of sports, and an afternoon of live sports demonstrations from 3pm-6pm, where you can see local sports clubs in action.

A whole host of taster sessions is set to range from rugby, athletics and cricket, to gymnastics, skateboarding, weightlifting and martial arts, as well as the chance to find out more about the Dover District Leisure Centre, and other opportunities to help everyone get more active.

The event on Thursday 11 April will kick off with a range of workshops for local sports clubs from 10am to 12 noon, and the event will open to the public from 12 noon to 6pm.

The day is being hosted by DDC in partnership with Active Kent and Medway.

Cllr Charlotte Zosseder, DDC Cabinet Member for Community, said: “We are delighted to launch the Dover District Sports Spectacular, and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School for this event.

“Sports clubs play an incredibly important part in our communities, promoting physical and mental well-being and helping to bring people together, and we are very pleased to have been able to work with our partners on this event."
