Bins and Recycling
Recycling and Waste Collections
Due to the increase in temperature, our contractors Veolia are set to start waste and recycling collections a little earlier for the rest of the week, to make the most of the cooler part of the day. Collections on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will start from 6am. Please make sure your bins are out early if these are your normal collections day. We thank householders in advance for their understanding.
To find your collection dates, including your downloadable waste calendar for the year, or for a whole range of services including to book a bulky collection, report missed collection, order a new container, sign up for a garden waste collection or report an issue, please see our Property Search page.

Road sweeping recycling
Road sweepings from Dover district are recycled through Kent County Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centre in Dover. The swept up material is taken to the Biffa plant in Horsham, West Sussex where the main output is sand (mixed with concrete and used in the construction industry) and aggregate (used in the construction industry for filling pot holes and lining trenches).
