Building Control Fees
Building Control Fees From 4th January 2011 (VAT @
20%)
The Council's Building Control Fees changed on the 1st October
2010. This change is brought about by new fee regulations
introduced by the government earlier this year. The idea behind the
new scheme is to be fairer, flexible and more accountable.
New fixed fees have been produced for categories of work similar
to the current scheme. For work outside of these categories an
independently determined charge will apply based on the amount of
office time and inspections required, calculated using information
supplied by the applicant.
Please read the notes on the fee sheets carefully, there
are occasions when projects attract fees from more than one of the
tables – you need to add these together when calculating the total
fee.
Certain work does not attract a fee although you still need to
make a Building Regulations application. For full details of the
fee exemptions please refer to section 11 of the
Council’s scheme of charges. If you are in any doubt as to the fee
