The Dover District Economic and Social Benchmark Report contains information and statistics on the economic and social trends in the Dover District. Information is available on a range of subjects including:

  • Social deprivation
  • Income support levels and
  • Crime rates

This report presents a further year of improvement and positive economic change in the district. The number of people in employment has continued to rise whilst the number of registered unemployed has decreased. There has been a marked improvement in educational achievements, however there still gaps in the workforce qualification levels compared with the South East in general. The overall improvement in prosperity has lead to declining numbers seeking Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit and there has also been a significant reduction in crime rates.
