Two cruise liner terminals have opened at the Western Docks in recent years establishing Dover as one of the leading cruise ports in Northern Europe.

Dover Harbour Board initially constructed Cruise Terminal One through the innovative refurbishment of the Dover Marine Station Building. The Harbour Board invested £10.5m in the restoration and transformation of this listed building, which opened as a cruise terminal in 1996.

Following the success of the first cruise terminal, a second cruise ship berth was added alongside Terminal One. A newly constructed terminal building, officially opened in May 2000, supports the second cruise berth.
