White Cliffs Careline to Close!

On 7th April 2008 Dover District Council cabinet considered a report that recommended closure of White Cliffs CareLine. It was agreed to consult the raised proposal for a period of 20 days. As part of the consultation exercise, customers and staff were spoken to.

At a full council meeting on Wednesday 9th July Dover District Council decided to close the White Cliffs CareLine. The closure will happen no later than March 31st 2009; Dover District Council has approached other providers with a view to take over customer’s calls.

Until this time our CareLine service will continue as normal. Any existing customers that wish to transfer to a different provider before this date can ring the main CareLine number, and we will arrange to collect our equipment. However we are not able to offer our service to any new customers. We are not able to recommend any particular supplier but below are the list of lifeline suppliers used by Kent County Council supporting people team.

We hope to write to all customers again in November, but in the mean time if you have any concerns about how the change in provider will effect you please call and speak with Sarah Wright (Housing Services Manager) on 01304 872232 or Carla Smith (Supported Housing Manager) on 01304 872093.
