Compact Implementation Group
A Dover District Compact Implementation Group (CIG) meets
quarterly to promote and deliver the Compact. This is a
cross-sector group and our main priority is to ensure all groups
know about, and use, the Compact. Other key activities include
monitoring implementation, recording successes and helping resolve
any disagreements.
We want Compact values and ideals to
be the normal way of doing business across the sectors.
The CIG revised the Terms of
Reference (pdf 1,710kb) in June 2007. The CIG has
also published a Compact Summary document and developed
a Dispute
Resolution Procedure (pdf, 1,780kb). This can be used
by both local groups and public bodies signed up to the Dover
District Compact to hold one another to account.
Public Bodies
- Dover District Council

Voluntary and Community Groups
Membership details are currently being
updated. Active members on the Group, over the past 12 months,
include:
- Community Action South East Kent (CASE Kent)
- Dover, Deal and District Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
- Dover District Volunteering Centre
- Homestart Dover District
- Arthritis Care / Disability Information Services Kent
(DISK)
- Deal Centre of the Retired
The voluntary and community sector consists of
a diverse range of organisations. CASE Kent (formerly the Mid and
South Eas Kent Council for Voluntary Service) is an infrastructure
organisation offering advice, support and training to over 400
voluntary and community organisations in the Dover district. It is
considered the best-placed body to co-ordinate representation on
the Compact Implementation Group. This will be carried out in a
consultative and inclusive way, aiming to ensure representation of
a wide range of interests.
We are keen to involve more local groups. If
