Achievements in 2006/2007
- Assisted in forming a Community Company (North Deal Community Company) to deliver community regeneration in North Deal. This company will assist with the integrated community facilities planned for the area.
- Community consultation on Buckland Mill. 21 separate consultation events were held in St Radigund’s, Buckland, River and Tower Hamlets - over 496 residents were recorded as participating.
- Delivered £90,000 of small project funding on behalf of the Coalfield Regeneration Trust. 22 groups have benefited. Tthese range from sports clubs, nursery schools, village halls, computer groups, scouts, youth groups and senior citizen groups.
- Continue to deliver and support community partnerships in Aylesham, Deal, Betteshanger, Buckland, Snowdown, Old Park and St Radigund’s.
- In year four of Project DELTA over 28,000 residents participated in DELTA activities.
- Instrumental in achieving a Community Development Partnership liaised with all key stakeholders, SEEDA, EP, DDC and KCC.
- Provided support to the National Coalfield Communities Campaign and hosted a regional and National meeting at DDC. Drafted a business plan for the forthcoming year 2007/2008.
- Provided over 200 community events/activities including music workshops, holiday clubs, swimming sessions, exercise classes, health walks, healthy eating courses, training courses and much more. Tthis was provided by Project DELTA.
- The Home Safety Equipment Loan Scheme has been Working in Partnership with Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and in the course of the 5 years of Project DELTA has been running the Home Safety Loan Coordinator has made over 500 referrals for clients to have Home Safety Checks carried out.
