Main Projects

Community group
  • The team are continuing our dual focus on community involvement in major projects and in operating external funding streams. We are also be preparing an overall Community Development Strategy for approval by CMT and Members
  • We will continue to encourage residents to have a say in the decisions that affect their lives and to set up and develop the groups and services they need.
  • We will also help residents get the knowledge, confidence, awareness and skills to campaign, raise funds and run management committees and groups.
  • We will help residents plan ahead, apply for grants and work with others with whom they have a common goal.
  • Continue to support community partnerships in Aylesham, Deal, Betteshanger, Buckland, Snowdown, Old Park and St Radigunds.
  • Continue to build relationships with key partners/organisations that will assist the regeneration of the district
  • Continue to deliver Project DELTA and provide an Exit Strategy
  • Continue to deliver Coalfield Regeneration Trust large and small project funding

Aylesham Expansion Programme

The Dover District Local Plan, adopted in February 2002, identifies Aylesham as a strategic location suitable for expansion with the aim of:

  • Creating a balanced and sustainable community
  • Encouraging forms of transport other than the car
  • Meeting the accessibility needs of all
