Sunday 6th June 11am to 5pm (approx) Static Vintage and Classic Car display, Market Square Dover 12 noon: Display of up to 100 Rolls –Royce cars dating from 1914 to 2002 on Dover seafront. These will be on the seafront for most of the day (Organised by the South Eastern section of the Rolls- Royce Enthusiasts Club) We shall also be welcoming back to Dover the 1899 Panhard et Levassor 8hp car originally owned by C.S. Rolls. He brought this car to an exhibition of early motor vehicles in Dover at Crabble Athletic ground in September 1899. (Courtesy of Norfolk Museum Service) 12.30pm: Ceremony at Charles Rolls statue, Dover seafront. (Speeches and presentations at the newly refurbished 1912 memorial statue.) Approx 1pm: Solo Spitfire display. A short display by a solo Spitfire to commemorate CS Rolls' historic flight. After a display over Dover harbour the plane will depart for France, returning later for a second display) Approx 1.10pm Battle of Britain Memorial Flight display (As a further salute to the Rolls- Royce legacy some of Britain's most famous wartime aircraft powered by the famous Rolls- Royce Merlin engine will perform a 15-minute display over the harbour) Approx. 4.10pm A second display by the solo Spitfire returning from a display in France Please note.
