7th Rock'n'Roll Party as Bard Breaks into The Secret Gardens
Director Rob Forknall has taken the Bard's immortal comedy and turned it into a rock and roll riot. Watch the Hazlitt's Changeling Theatre strut their stuff amid the hebes and hibiscus in this, one of Kent's most wonderful private gardens. Gates open at 6pm on what promises to be a perfect summer's evening, so visitors can sip champagne and take a stroll around the lush gardens, now at their glorious best, before settling down among the flowers for a colourful night of comedy and side-splitting mirth - Shakespearean-style. 11th BAND OF H.M. ROYAL MARINES IN CONCERT
The Band of H.M. Royal Marines (Royal Band) Portsmouth make their annual visit to the Deal Memorial Bandstand to stage a concert in memory of the eleven Royal marine Bandsmen killed in the bombing at Deal in September 1989. This concert is FREE. Bring a picnic and enjoy an afternoon of World class music with this famous military band. The concert starts at 2pm with other entertainment leading up to the concert.

We are having an open day - hoping to attract new members - on Saturday and Sunday 17th & 18th July. The club, which is on the seafront in Dover, will be open both days so that potential new recruits may inspect the premises and see from the displays of our activities that we are far more than just a Yacht Club. 24th-25th Two Cultural Olympiad Events in Dover
DAD has been awarded funding to run two events as part of Dover's Cultural Olympiad Open Weekend programme over the weekend of 24 and 25 July 2010: a film screening event in Dover's Grand Shaft from 1pm - 6pm on Saturday 24 July and from 1pm - 5pm on Sunday 25 July and a filmmaking workshop for young filmmakers. Entrance to the Grand Shaft is from Snargate Street CT17 9DA or from South Military Road (Western Heights). The filmmaking workshop will take place at KETV studios in Dover and is aimed at aspiring young disabled filmmakers aged between 14 and 26.

25th Bleriot - Guided Walk
Location: Meet Visitor Centre, White Cliffs Time: 2-4pm. 2 miles. Allow 2 hours. Cost: Free event but donations welcome. Limited spaces so pre booking advisable. Normal Car Park fees apply. Description: Louis Bleriot famously landed his biplane at Northfall Meadow, a short walk from the Visitor Centre. Join us for a gentle walk and talk looking over the site. Alfred Harmsworth, the owner of the Daily Mail, was a great supporter of flying and in October 1908 offered a prize of £1,000 for the first airman to cross the English Channel. Bleriot won that prize and on the 25th July 1909 history was made. Booking: 01304 202756

25th Dinosaur 10k and Fun Run
Deal Triathlon will hold a 10km road running race on an undulating course along Deal Promenade (minimum age 15 years). There will also be a 1.5km fun run for any child up to and including 14 years. £14 is an adult entry (£12 is the entry for affiliated members) and £3 Juniors. The main 10k race begins at 10am and the fun run begins at 9.15am for those aged 11-14 years and 9.30am for those aged 10 and under. 26th Junior Lighthouse Keeper Training Day
Location: South Foreland Lighthouse Time: 11am – 3.30pm Cost: Free event Description: Find out how the lighthouse keepers carried out their day to day tasks of looking after and living at the lighthouse. 27th FAMILY DAY AT DOVER MUSEUM
Adults and children alike can make and decorate a jointed historical figure. Choose from a variety of historical people from a Roman soldier to an Elizabethan lady, a Viking farmer to Victorian servant. Drop in anytime between 10.00 - 16.30. There is no extra charge for the workshop but normal admission rates to the museum of £3 per adult and £2 per senior, student and child apply.
