2nd Dover Dickens Festival and Parade
Annual Dickens Festival with a Fete in the Market Square from 10am - 4pm , and a parade at 4pm starting from the Market Square going through the town centre to the Town Hall. There will be a variety of stalls including Fairtrade, RNLI and other local organisations.

3rd 2235 Deal Squadron Anniversary Parade
To commemorate the 6oth Anniversary of the formation of no 2235 (Deal) Squadron, Air Training Corp. The Squadron and other cadets from Kent will parade through Deal starting at the junction of High Street and Queen Street at 13.45 on to St Andrews Church. There will be a service of thanksgiving and re-dedication at the church. The Admiral Lord Boyce, Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports will take the Salute.

7th Study Day: Five Thousand Years of Glass.
Folkestone DFAS is pleased to announce that Andy McConnell, a NADFAS lecturer and Antiques Roadshow expert, has agreed to give us this Study Day. The Study Day will be held in the foyer of The Tower Theatre and will take the form of three one-hour sessions with breaks for refreshments and lunch. 23rd-24th Apple Fayre Weekend
Location: White Cliffs Visitor Centre. Time: 10am – 4pm Cost: Free event. Usual car parking fees apply. Description: A marquee will accommodate a large selection of apples and juices, where visitors can taste old and new varieties before they buy. An apple expert will be on hand for consultations and other local produce stalls will be selling their wares. Try your hand at guessing the weight of the pumpkin or finding the maggot! Prizes to be won.

25th-29th Half Term Nature Trail
Location: South Foreland Lighthouse. Time: 11am – 3.30pm Cost: Free event. Description: Half Term fun! A trail sheet will lead children around the grounds of the lighthouse. This is a family activity and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Adults and children alike can come along and try a wide variety of games from the past from Snakes and Ladders to Draughts, Happy Families to Battleships. Drop in anytime between 10.00 - 16.30. There is no extra charge for the workshop but normal admission rates of £3 per adult and £2 apply. Entry to the museum is FREE for DDC residents. Proof of address is required. 28th Lecture: Windsor Castle: Fire, Restoration and the Queen at Windsor.
Oliver Everett returns to FolkestoneDFAS to describe the fire at Windsor Castle in 1992 and its restoration five years later.
