Trees

General Advice

The Conservation Section can help with enquiries relating to trees on private property, or where they are protected by a tree preservation order or are within a conservation area.

We provide help and advice with:

• High Hedges
• The Protection of Trees and Wildlife
• Pruning Deciduous Broadleaf Trees
• Tree Preservation Orders (pdf)

The Conservation Section does not deal with:

• Trees and grass cutting on land owned by Dover District Council
  eg. in public parks, playgrounds, etc. Please refer to the Council’s Horticulture Section.
• Trees in a Council tenant’s garden:
  Please refer to the relevant Housing Officer for your area.
• Trees or shrubs that obstruct or are a danger to a public footway, street or highway:
