Members Code of Conduct
Every council is required to
adopt a Code of Conduct that sets out rules governing the behaviour
of its members. The Codes of Conduct cover areas of individual
behaviour such as councillors not abusing their position or not
misusing their authority's resources.
In addition, there are rules
governing disclosure of interest and withdrawal from meetings where
councillors have relevant interests. Councillors are also required
to record their financial and other interests and details of these
can be found on the Register of
Interest page.
The Code of Conduct adopted by the
Dover District Council forms part of the Council's Constitution.
