the coming year. It should enable residents to judge the quality
and cost of our services compared with other local

The Audit Commission assesses the performance of
authorities and the services that they provide for local
people.

Monitoring
The council monitors its performance against a range of performance
indicators including National Indicators, Local Performance
Indicators and Best Value Performance Indicators. Targets for the
National Indicators are set locally and at a national level, LPI
and BVPI targets are set locally. Performance Indicators are
incorporated within Service Plans for each area and these link into
the organisation's Corporate Plan.
