- Administration of Postal, Proxy and Postal/Proxy Voting
- Compilation of the Register of Electors
- Conduct of Parliamentary and Local Government Boundary Reviews
- Co-ordination of Local Authority Searches
- Liaison with Political Parties, Candidates and the Media
- Liaison with the Electoral Commission, Home Office and ODPM
- Maintenance of the Local Land Charges Register
