Major decisions affecting the Council and the District are taken at meetings by your Councillors and members of the public are welcome to attend. An overview of the Council's decision making arrangements is shown below:
Meetings of the Council and its Committees generally commence at 6.00pm and the Cabinet at 11am.
Agenda papers are published five clear working days before the meeting. Paper copies or large type versions can be supplied on payment of a copy charge. Alternatively, a limited supply of agendas will be available at meetings, free of charge, and all agendas, reports and minutes can be viewed and downloaded from this website www.dover.gov.uk/agendas. Minutes are normally published within five working days of each meeting.
All meetings are held at the Council Offices, Whitfield unless otherwise indicated on the front page of the agenda. There is disabled access via the Council Chamber entrance and a disabled toilet is available in the foyer. In addition, there is a PA system and hearing loop within the Council Chamber.
If there are any issues you wish to raise affecting yourself or your local community please contact the Council Offices, Whitfield (telephone: (01304) 821199) to speak to a member of staff or contact your local Ward Councillor. In addition, you may submit a petition to the Council, table a question at a meeting of the full Council, contribute to a review undertaken by a Scrutiny Committee or speak at a meeting of a Planning Committee on a planning application (subject to compliance with the procedure laid down for this purpose).
