District, Town and Parish Council elections were held on 3 May. Dover District Council is now made up of 28 Conservatives, 15 Labour and 2 Liberal Democrat councillors. Dover District Council elected its new Leader and appointed the Cabinet at the Annual Meeting on 16 May. The Leader of the Council is Cllr Paul Watkins.
Cllr Paul Watkins said: “From Dover District’s point of view, the continuity of Conservative leadership will mean continuity to bringing a wide range of major projects forward now at this exciting delivery phase.”

Cllr Mrs Julie Rook, Citizenship and Consumer Affairs;
Cllr Nicholas Kenton, Environment, Waste and Planning;
Cllr Mrs Sue Nicholas, Housing and Community;
Cllr Trevor Bartlett, Corporate Performance and Human Resources;
Cllr Stephen Manion, Corporate Resources and ICT;
Cllr Kit Smith, Partnerships and External Affairs; and
Cllr Patrick Heath, Public Health and Protection.
The Chairman of the Council is Cllr Bernard Butcher.
The Vice Chairman of the Council is Cllr Roger Frayne.
