DDC website recognised in major national report

An online accolade is being celebrated after Dover District Council’s website gained a top ten success in a report that sets the gold standard for IT in Local Government. The site is identified by the National Society of Information Technology Management (SOCITIM) as the seventh best District Council site for resolving customer enquiries.

Dover District Council @ your service website is listed as an example of best practice for the A-Z section and for Home Page performance. The website also remains highly rated for accessibility in independent rankings, with over 40,000 visitors each month and almost 1,000,000 pages viewed each month.

We are planning further improvements, including: improved management of website content through free software that will save the district’s taxpayers around £30,000; using the Citizen’s Panel to develop and design the site; and increased facilities for self-service.
