As we all watch the skies for Santa or the chance for some seasonal snow, don’t forget the environment and together we can work towards a green Christmas.
Make the most of your kerbside recycling scheme and recycle all your white paper, white directories, newspapers, magazines, glass bottles and jars and drink cans and food tins in your black box kerbside collections.
If you want to recycle it sooner than your next collection, why not ‘drop when you shop’ at any one of the ‘bring sites’ at the local supermarkets and car parks throughout the district. For details of your nearest recycling point, please see the Council website at www.dover.gov.uk/recycling
Don’t forget you can recycle your ‘real’ Christmas tree on your green waste collection day from Monday 7th January until Friday 18th January 2008. If you do not have a green waste collection then you can recycle it at any Household Waste Recycling Centre at Whitfield, Deal or Richborough.
Can we take this chance to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
To launch a new scheme whereby residents can sign up to receive free recycling email alerts, Waste Services are giving away free gifts to the first 50 residents who sign up!
If you would like to receive e-mails informing you when your recycling will be collected, simply register on the Dover District Council Refuse and Recycling website to receive an automated e-mail. An alert will be sent direct to your email account every fortnight the day before collection reminding you to put out your black box or green bag.
