Plans to bring about the comprehensive regeneration of the former Snowdown Colliery site are another step closer. Dover District Council has granted planning permission for 250,000 square foot of business space at the site, along with the creation of a 30 hectare country park featuring footpaths, a picnic area and information points relating to the mining history of the colliery and the area’s unique environment. This follows the recent opening of the popular Fowlmead Park on the Betteshanger site.
