Climate Change - Why is it happening?
The greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring phenomenon,
however the effect has been intensified by human activity and the
emission of gases into the atmosphere.

Heat from the sun is usually reflected back into space by
planets such as Earth, some of the heat is trapped by the
surrounding blanket of gases and is radiated back to warm the
Earth. Whilst we would not exist if this did not happen, the
problem is the amount of gases in the atmosphere is increasing, and
less heat can escape therefore more heat is being trapped in the
atmosphere – increasing the temperature of the Earth.
The main human influence on global climate is the emission of so
called greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and
nitrous oxide
