The Disability Equality Duty came in to force at the beginning of December 2006, and part of this duty is the requirement to have a Scheme and Action Plan in place, showing how we intend to actively promote disability equality. This scheme forms part of our overarching Equality scheme. It is being monitored for on a quarterly basis, and progress is shown as part of the action plan.
