Translation

Dover District Council is a partner in the National Leaflet Project. This contains leaflets offering general guidance and advice, in various languages, so that local authorities and customers can use them around the country. Braille copies are available on request and an audio version of the leaflets is available on the National Leaflets website.

Please contact our Customer Services Team who will be pleased to help you with any other translation, interpretation, Braille or sign requirements. They can be reached on the main switchboard number 01304 821199.

We can guide you to translation services for most other public documents on request. We will also provide large print or audio tape versions for residents with visual impairments and our website has read-speaker on most pages.

Asking for help

The following text has been translated on this site into key community languages for Dover District - these languages are Arabic , Bengali , Chinese , Gujarati , Nepalese , Polish , Punjabi , Slovak, Romanian, Somali and Urdu :

"We are committed to providing interpreting services to our residents who cannot speak or read English. However, we recommend that you always try to find a friend or relative who can speak or read English to help you with your enquiry initially. It will help both us and yourself to deal with your needs more effectively."
