Race

An amendment to the Race Relations Act in 2000 placed a duty on all councils to have a Scheme and Action Plan in place, showing how race equality would be promoted. In Dover we’ve developed an overarching Equality scheme together with an action plan. It is being monitored regularly, and progress as at 31st March 2008 is shown as part of the action plan.

Through our Community Support Team and our Community Liaison officer, we are working with a large variety of groups throughout Dover District. If you or an organisation you represent would like to be part of our consultation process, please contact us by email : equalities@dover.gov.uk or by visiting our community development pages.
