Welcome to the Dover District Council Arts and Creative Industries Directory. This is a directory of artists, arts organisation and creative industries working and/or living within the Dover District. It has been devised in direct response to community need and is a major part of the process of auditing and mapping artistic and creative activity in the area.
According to recent national research:
"Participation in the arts is an effective route for personal
growth, leading to enhanced confidence, skill-building and educational
developments, which can improve people's social contacts and employability".
The creation of the Arts & Creative Industries Directory will enable the local community to locate artists and creative businesses in the Dover District in oder to commission work, book performers or get involved in arts activity. It will help to develop new arts audiences, provide networking opportunities and assist in raising the profile of the creative industries, which are of vital importance to the economic and social regeneration of the Dover District and East Kent Region as a whole.
