State Benefits
The cost of living keeps going up all the time so it is
important to claim everything that you and your family are entitled
to.
We are able to check to see if you and your family are receiving
all the correct State benefits, these include: -
Under 60
If you are under the age of 60 and are able to get to one of our
area offices, our staff will be able to assist you with any
questions that you or your family may have about the benefits
listed above and help complete applications for Housing Benefit
and/or Council Tax Benefit and Discretionary Housing Payments.
For our residents under the age of 60, who are unable to get to
our area offices, we offer a home visiting service. The home
visiting service offers the opportunity for our visiting officers
to see people in their homes to give advice and help to complete
applications for Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Benefit and
Discretionary Housing Payments.
Over 60
Dover District Council and The Pension Service are working
together to ensure that residents in the district who are 60 or
over have access to all the benefits and services to which they are
entitled. This combined approach means that the same visiting
officer is able to complete many different applications for
benefit, which provides continuity and the ability to build a
relationship with the visiting officer.
We are able to provide information about other agencies to help
residents obtain all other benefits and services.
