Domestic Violence

Dover District Council has decided on zero tolerance of domestic violence in the District. To this aim the Council has devised formal domestic violence operating guidelines for front line staff to follow to assist victims of violence within the Council's housing stock.

The guidelines have been produced with a multi agency approach in consultation with Dover District Council's Housing Needs/Homelessness Section, Health Visitors, the Police and other social landlords that work in the district.

It is hoped that with this multi agency partnership victims of domestic violence will be supported and enabled to sustain their tenure if they wish to and are able to do so safely.
