Homelessness

What kind of help can I expect?

The kind of assistance you are entitled to depends on your circumstances and how you became homeless.

The Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002 states that enquiries must be made about all homeless applications to find out whether the Council has a duty to help you, and if so, what kind of help you should be given.

Every council in the country must, by law, ensure that certain enquiries are made into all homeless applications.
