In order to encourage tenants under-occupying accommodation, to
move to smaller non-family housing, a grant of £1000 is offered to
assist with removal costs and other expenses. This grant will only
be payable if the move is arranged as a result of a nomination to
Council or Housing Association property via the Council’s transfer
list.
Tenants in Breach of their Tenancy Agreement
Tenants who are in breach of their tenancy agreement, eg. rent
arrears, condition of property, or unsocial behaviour, will only be
considered when the situation is remedied.
Tenantys Adequately Housed
Tenants who are considered to be adequately housed under the
Council’s Allocation Policy will not have any priority to move and
registered as ‘no need’. A mutual exchange register is held by the
Council for tenants interested in exchanging their homes with other
tenants.
