Leaseholder Information

What is a Leaseholder?

Just over 450 of our flats and houses have been sold to Leaseholders under the 'Right to Buy' legislation. The Council retain ownership of the freehold and we have certain responsibilities to our leaseholders such as keeping the structure of the building in good repair and providing services to the communal areas, and we recover the cost of providing these services from the leaseholder.

More information about the rights and responsibilites of leaseholders is contained in the Leaseholder Handbook and our 'Frequently Asked Questions' page.

Leaseholder Handbook

We have produced a booklet for Leaseholders which provides information about:

  • your rights and responsibilities
  • service charges
  • repairs, maintenace, improvements and alterations
  • selling or transferring your property
  • how you can get involved
