The Pier offers an excellent vantage point from which to view the whole of the seafront area and to watch passing vessels
It is open every day (other than Christmas Day and New Years Day) from 8.00 a.m. until 10.00 p.m.
In addition to providing a pleasant walk, with an opportunity to obtain refreshments from The Goodwins Restaurant at the pier head, Deal Pier also offers sea anglers an ideal venue from which to practice their sport and Fishing Day Tickets are available from the Pier Staff.
Should you, or your Club or Organisation wish to arrange, in advance, to fish from the Pier between 10.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m., when it would be closed to the public, you are invited to complete an Application Form and send or deliver this to the Pier Supervisor at the Pier Office, Deal Pier, South Parade, Beach Street, Deal, Kent CT14 6HZ.

To ensure that Deal Pier remains a safe and pleasant facility for all, conduct is governed by the District Council's Byelaws relating to Deal Pier, dated 8 July 1976
From time to time, as circumstances dictate, it may prove necessary to close off parts of the Pier or to preclude fishing from areas where it would otherwise be permitted, In such cases the Pier Supervisor will cause appropriate barriers to be erected, notices to be displayed or advice to be provided to anglers and the right to remain on the Pier will be conditional upon compliance with such directions that may be given. Please bear in mind that the Pier Supervisor's primary concerns are for the safety of those using and in the neighbourhood of the Pier and for the fabric and structure of the Pier itself. In the event of the Pier Staff asking any person to cease fishing from any particular location or to leave the Pier the District Council will expect such a request to be promptly and civilly observed. Should any person feel aggrieved by such a requirement they are invited to provide brief particulars to Leisure Services, Dover District Council, White Cliffs Business Park, Dover kent CT16 3PJ in order that the incident may be fully investigated.
The District Council would equally be pleased to hear from you if you have any constructive suggestions to make regarding the improvement of facilities on the Pier. All visitors to the Pier should take reasonable steps to safeguard their own property as the District Council cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage arising from the acts or omissions of third parties.
For safety reasons no camping stoves or gas burners are permitted to be taken on to the Pier. Should you be involved in or sustain or witness an accident on the Pier you are requested to provide particulars to the Pier Staff as soon as reasonably practicable.
