Fire Safety Rules

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into effect on the 1 st October 2006. This order applies to virtually all business premises but not private homes or individual flats in a block or house.

The order is regulated by the Fire & Rescue Services throughout the UK (not the local authority) however it is open to the Fire Service to request a review of premises licences under the Licensing Act 2003 where a business does not comply with the order

More information on this order and the duties placed on businesses may be found on www.communities.gov.uk
