Driver, Vehicle or Operator Licences
Applications
Dover District Council licences all drivers as drivers of both
hackney carriage and private hire vehicles under one licence.
This is to allow greater flexibility for the taxi trade in the
utilisation of its resources. Applications
for a drivers licence must be accompanied by the relevant fee and other documentation
required.
Vehicles are subject to conditions as to age and mileage both when initially granted a
licence and during renewal of any licence. Applications for
vehicle licences must be made on the appropriate form and be accompanied by the
relevant fee and other documentation
required.
The operators of private hire vehicles are also required to be
licensed. Applications for
operator licences must be accompanied by the relevant fee and other documentation
required. Hackney Carriage operators are exempted from the
need for an operators licence.
