Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Applications
Applications for the grant or renewal of hackney carriage and
private hire vehicle licences must be made on the appropriate form
and be accompanied by the relevant fee at the time of
application.
In addition the Licensing Authority requires that the following
documentaion is privided with the application:
1. A current Ministry of Transport test certificate issued
not more than 14 days before the application is made. In the
case of new vehicles a pre-drive inspection certificate provided by
the vehicle supplier not more than 30 days prior to the
application will be accepted.
2. The current registration certificate (log book)
3. A valid certificate of insurance
4. A current vehicles excise licence (tax disc)
The vehicle will be subject to a visual inspection to ensure it
complies with policy, including the requirement for a first
aid kit and fire extinquisher.
