The Core Strategy is the principal document in the LDF and will contain the Council’s vision and spatial strategy for the future development of the District. It will be used to identify land for development of a strategic nature in the District including the strategic housing allocation at Whitfield. The Core Strategy will contain a separate section on strategic development control policies. Policies within this document will be applicable District wide.
A key diagram will be used to illustrate this strategy. It will be prepared to be in conformity with RPG/RSS and will have regard to the Community Strategy. The preparation of the Core Strategy is the LDD with which all other DPDs/SPDs need to be in conformity.
The Site Allocations Document will be in conformity with the Core Strategy. The Site Allocations Document will identify the site specific allocations and designation in Dover, Deal, Sandwich and the rural area that will be required to deliver the vision set out in the Core Strategy.
This Supplementary Planning Document on development contributions would provide certainty to developers by identifying the District Council’s priorities in relation to affordable housing, open space, education and community facilities rather than dealing with proposals on an ‘ad hoc’ manner’
