We can only learn
about the Bronze Age through the objects that survive.
Pottery, metal and stone tend to be preserved better
than wood and other organic material, so we do not know a great
deal about how they used these materials.
Farming
Bronze Age people, in southern Britain, also farmed
the land using simple but effective tools. The ard - a wooden
light plough - was used, probably drawn by oxen. Sheep were
kept for wool, which was spun and woven. Crops such as wheat
were grown, and the grain was milled. |
