Swimming the Channel

Dover Museum's Collection

Within the last couple of years, the museum has been fortunate to receive a number of private and family collections related to channel swimming. , Dover Museum has acquired many photographs and articles about the subject - covering from the early years of the 20th century through the heyday in the 1950s, and some more modern material. Now the museum holds one of the world's best collections of material relating to channel swimming.

The Museum has been donated a superb collection of material relating to Sam Rockett. This private collection has been donated by his family and will  be known as The Sam Rockett Collection. Details of the material in this collection will be added to the catalogue as soon as possible.
