Dover District Council and Kent County Council have allocated funding to the Neighbourhood Forums for small community capital projects and an application form and guidance notes (MS Word) are now available. The maximum amount that can be applied for is £5,000 and the project must be capital purchases.
Kent County Council is administering the Small Community Capital Projects grant for the neighbourhood Forum. Please contact Will Farmer, KCC Community Liaison Manager, for advice on who can, and how to, apply for grant funding and to discuss any project you would like support for.
The closing date for applications is the 29th August 2008. Please send your application forms in to Will Farmer as soon as possible.
The Neighbourhood Forums will recommend projects for grant funding at the next round of quarterly meetings in October 2008.
You can also apply for further funding through the 'Kent County Council Member Community Grants' for either revenue or capital projects. Each KCC Member has £10,000 and there is no set closing date for these grants. Application forms can be obtained through Will Farmer (Email: will.farmer@kent.gov.uk Tel: 01622 696911).
Kent County Council Members also have a Local Schemes Grant, which is for revenue or minor capital projects.
Grant application forms are only available from your local KCC Councillor, who you need to speak to direct if you are interested in applying. Members’ contact details are available on the Kent County Council website:
The closing date for Local Schemes Grant applications is the 29th August 2008, to be recommended and announced at the following round of Neighbourhood Forums in October 2008.
All grant applications need to show benefit to the community.
