Merchant Navy Day 2010
Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Bernard Butcher, with
the Kent Branch of the Merchant Navy Association, is organising a
special service at Dover Town Hall for Merchant Navy Day on Friday
3 September and all are welcome to attend.
Standard bearers will march into the Town Hall from 10am, where
there will be a Service of Celebration. This will be followed by an
address from the Chairman of the Kent Branch of the Merchant Navy
Association and a closing address from the Chairman of Dover
District Council.
An official wreath laying ceremony for civic heads, standard
bearers, Merchant Navy Association representatives, and other
members of the community is also being held at the Merchant Navy
War Memorial on Dover seafront from 11.15am.
