From January 2001, Dover District Council took over responsibility for
the enforcement of parking regulations in roads across the district, with
the exception of the A2, A20 and the dual carriageway section of the A256.
On these roads, parking enforcement remains the responsibility of the
Police, who will also continue to be responsible for all nonparking related
traffic offences on the district's roads. A team of 12 Council Parking
Attendants are on patrol 7 davs a week enforcing regulations relating
to vellow lines, limited waiting areas, residents' parking areas, bus
stops and coach bays, taxi ranks, school entrance markings and disabled
persons' parking, bays. The new scheme encourages drivers to make sure
their vehicle is correctly parked and improves traffic flow and road safety.
The income generated is used for enforcement and to improve parking facilities
in the district, including the introduction of a number of residents'
parking schemes in Dover, Deal
and Sandwich.
On street pay and display parking areas (maximum stay 2 hours) are available at:
| Dover | Russell Street Castle Street Pencester Road |
| Deal | King Street Sea Front (North of the Royal Hotel) Prince of Wales Terrace Victoria Road |
| Sandwich | New Street Market Street |
Season tickets continue to be available for car parks in Deal and Dover, from £35 for 3 months.
Season ticket applications and details of the residents parking schemes are available here.
