Due to the rising demand of beach huts we have had to close our waiting lists for beach huts at both St. Margaret’s Bay and Kingsdown.
We have looked into providing more huts, but following public consultation and opposition to our plans we have had to withdraw our application.
The sheds on Walmer beach are strictly for those who have a boat/ beach plot and are for the storage of equipment rather than use as beach/ bathing huts.
We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.

At Kingsdown, near Deal, the Council lets out 23 beach plots for people to erect their own beach hut. Unfortunately none of these plots are currently available and we are unable to take any more names on our waiting list at present.

Beach hut and plot hire renewals are sent out annually on 1st April, if the current hirer does not wish to renew their agreement, the vacant hut/plot is offered to the next person on the waiting list.
