Dover District Council is one of four bodies who may under the Local Government Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1953 provide bus shelters, the other three being Town or Parish Council and the Bus Company.
The Property Services Division is responsible for the day to day management of 56 Dover District owned bus shelters throughout the district.
A further 48 shelters are provided under contract with JC Decaux.
Various Parish Councils have provided and are responsible for another 38 bus shelters.
