The Endeavour Centre, St. Margarets Bay, Dover

The Endeavour CentreThis striking beach hut resembling the hull of an upturned boat, was designed and built by students of The Prince's Foundation. The environmentally friendly project, completed in March 2000 was funded by donations.

It is primarily an education centre for use by schools and community groups who can enjoy the marine life and rock pools within the Bay, providing shelter and storage whilst on field trips or outings. The main outside doors can be opened to reveal internal glass panels which provide a source of natural light through the building.

Close to the Centre is a refreshment kiosk offering hot and cold food. This is open during the summer months, and sometimes during the autumn depending upon the weather. The area also has a public toilet facility and telephone.
