Street Cleaning

Street Sweeper

Find out when your street is cleaned

The Council carries out sweeping and inspections of all areas on a regular basis. In between inspections, if any area falls below the required standard it will be cleaned to the standards set by the Environment Protection Act 1990. For example, within 1 hour in town centre areas.

Environmental Protection Act (1990)

The introduction of the Environmental Protection Act (1990) requires Local Authorities to zone all areas, and sets out clear cleanliness standards.

Information on these zones and copies of a leaflet entitled 'Litter and The Law', produced by the TidyBritain Group, can be obtained from any Council area office or by calling 01304 872428.

Litter Bins

Litter and Dog Poop Scoop bins are privded at various locations to assist with keeping the streets and open spaces clean. To report a full/damaged dog bin or to request a bin in a new location, Tel: 01304 872428 or email customerservices@dover.gov.uk.
