Core Strategy Preferred Options Public Participation
The first formal consultation stage in the LDF process is known
as the ‘Preferred Options stage'. This is where the Council, having
considered options, sets out its preferred approach to the plans
and undertakes public consultation on them. This will help the
Council to shape the final version of the plans. The complete plan
making process is illustrated in the Process Chart (pdf, 15kb). Public
participation on the Core Strategy, Site Allocations Document
and Development Contributions SPD Preferred Options documents
started on 27 March and ended on the 12 May 2008.
The Statement of Proposals Matters and Notice of Public
Participation are provided in the
Preferred
Options Statutory Notice, March 2008 (pdf, 22kb).

2008)
The Core Strategy has also been subject to a
Sustainability Appraisal, which aims to ensure
that the policies and proposals in each document reflect the
principles of sustainable development.
The Core Strategy has also been subject to a Habitat Regulations
Assessment. This assessment considers the impact of proposed
development upon internationally designated wildlife habitats in
and around the District.
