Land Allocations Document

(Formerly Site Allocations Document)

Consultation on the Access Options for Land between 73 Sandwich Road, Cherry Garden Lane and to the Rear of 44 to 58 New Street, Ash

The District Council is seeking views on access options for land currently under consideration for residential development in the District Council’s Land Allocations Document.

The District Council included the land, with an indicative access onto Sandwich Road, in the 2008 Preferred Options public consultation version of the Land Allocations Document.  Since that time other access options have been identified and the Council would welcome views on those before it decides whether to include the land in the next version of the Document.  This version would then be submitted to Government for approval.

To view the options that have been suggested and to make comments please go to our on line representation system.

Interim Consultation

Consultation on the Interim Consultation document took place between October and December 2010 and is now closed.

The document, and the comments which have been made, are available to view through our on-line representation system. Please note you do not need to register in order to view the document.

The Council has not yet selected the sites which are believed to be most suitable for development. The maps are intended to show all of the potential development options i.e. all the sites submitted by landowners, developers and agents at various stages in the process. No analysis of these sites has taken place. At this stage the site boundaries reflect the information submitted. The Interim Consultation Document states an ‘indicative number of homes’ for each of the new sites. The indicative number of homes is simply a crude calculation of how many homes could be accommodated at 30 dwellings per hectare. In reality this would be refined as part of any subsequent analysis of sites.

Now the consultation period has ended, the next step will be for the Council to assess each site individually and then the sites will to be considered by the LDF working group/Cabinet/Council. Once the draft allocations are decided the Council will publish the Submission Version for public comment. This will be an eight week public consultation period and is anticipated to be in April/May 2012.
