The price of the bags includes the disposal costs.
Large and Bulky Trade Waste
The following Household Waste Recycling
Centres accept trade waste (these are operated by
Kent County Council):
The waste must be declared as ‘trade’ via the weighbridge and is
subject to costs.
The following items are not accepted:
- fridges
- freezers
- TV’s,
- computer monitors
- waste oil - food or mechanical
- liquid waste
- gas bottles
- fire extinguishers
- vehicle batteries
- tyres
- flourescent tubes and chemicals.
To prevent traders there are height barriers and CCTV.
Collection
To legally dispose of large or bulky items you can arrange
for a commercial waste collection with a licensed contractor
Annual Waste Transfer Note
An Annual Waste Transfer Note can be completed at Whifield and
Hawkinge for trade waste that does not require a Waste transfer
Licence (ie. Waste that you are carrying yourself that is from your
business, ie cardboard boxes from a shop). The Environment
Agency (tel 08708 506506) can provide for more
information.
There are a number of licensed waste
management companies which provide commercial waste and recycling
collection services in the Dover area. For competitive
quotes, you are advised to contact private companies
directly.
